Top-Five Prospect Jabari Smith Commits To Auburn

Oct 10, 2020 12:39 PM

Top-five recruit Jabari Smith announced his commitment to Auburn.

Smith, who chose the Tigers over Tennessee, Georgia, LSU, Georgia Tech and North Carolina, is the highest ranked Auburn recruit since at least 2007.

Smith had also discussed joining the G League.

"It is close to home, maybe an hour and 30 minutes away from my house. Not far at all. Their style of play is free and fast. Auburn is known for their defense. Playing for Coach Pearl will help me become a stronger two-way player," said Smith.

Smith is ranked No. 5 in ESPN's class of 2021.

Isaac Okoro Says He Should Be No. 1 Pick, Sees Himself Playing With Timberwolves

Oct 4, 2020 5:03 PM

Isaac Okoro said that he should be the top pick in the upcoming draft due to the winning culture he provides.

“Yes, I feel I should be the No. 1 pick because I go out every game and I compete and I give 100 percent effort. I’m just willing to do whatever any coaches want me to do, so I feel like me bringing a winning culture I should be the No. 1 pick," said Okoro.

The 6-foot-6 Okoro averaged 12.9 points and 4.4 rebounds for Auburn last season.

Okoro's agent said that every team in the league, including the Timberwolves, has reached out to Okoro.

“I could see myself fitting in there, playing with D’Angelo Russell, Karl-Anthony Towns. I feel like I could come in there and play my role, do whatever the coach needs me to do in the game and just win," said Okoro about potentially being the top pick in the draft.

Okoro added that he's been working to improve his shooting and ball-handling ahead of the draft.

"In the NBA, you have to polish all aspects of your game, so I’ve been working on shooting, ball-handling, just every aspect of my game.”
